Stop looking back.

Sometimes we become committed to living in our past. We talk about our past issues, past workplace issues, past family conflicts, past relationships and the overall regrets of our past that have prevented us from being where we should like to be. When we decide to live in our past, we stay committed to stay stuck in a negative mindset.

Instead, we can choose to be intentional about living differently and making better decisions and staying in the present. We all have made mistakes, but staying in the past doesn’t magically make it disappear, in fact it just robs us of enjoying the present. Below are some examples of how you can be more intentional and keep your mindset, in the present;

  • Go to therapy to discuss the things of your past
  • Journal your feelings
  • Read self-help books to stay in the present
  • Focus on the things going good in your life/ current workplace/relationships
  • Focus on the relationships that are meaningful to you and spend time with them
  • Connect with new people
  • Read and listen to positive things
  • Focus on the things that you are proud of
  • Create a vision board
  • Set new goals for yourself
  • Create a bucket list of things you want to do
  • Spend time alone
